Ruth (Moabite) → Boaz (kinsman-redeemer) → Obed → Jesse → David → Jesus

1. Ruth — a Moabite outsider, no right to be on the tree

2. Her declaration: "Your people shall be my people and your God my God." (Ruth 1:16)

3. Boaz sees her, redeems her — the kinsman-redeemer

4. Boaz as foreshadowing of Christ who sees and redeems the overlooked

5. Her branch changed the course of human history
